Postgraduate Cultivation

The school highly values research training for master's students to cultivate economists who are adept at applying modern economic theories and methodologies to analyze and address real-world economic issues. These individuals should be capable of independently conducting scientific research and possess an international outlook and innovative qualities so that they can become key contributors in important positions within economic management departments.

BIBS would cultivate postgraduates with the following general and professional competencies:

(1) Exhibit a steadfast and correct political orientation, uphold good moral character, demonstrate a heightened sense of social responsibility, maintain correct values, embrace patriotism, practice honesty, and adhere to the principles of law. They should also possess a profound understanding of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, foster a scientific worldview, maintain physical well-being, and possess sound psychological qualities and adaptability to the ever-evolving changes and advancements in society.

(2) Have a solid theoretical foundation, broad professional knowledge, and the ability to conduct independent research in Economics. Postgraduates should master the frontier dynamics, the trend of development of the discipline, and the theories in at least one research field. They would excel at empirical research methods, be familiar with domestic and international economic policies and regulations and have a strong ability to analyze, research, and solve problems.

(3) Proficiency in computers, mastery of at least one foreign language, a broad international outlook, and the ability to communicate well in an international academic context.

BIBS currently offers one part-time professional Master's program (Master of Business Administration (MBA)) and three full-time professional Master's programs (Master of Finance, Master of Professional Accounting and Master of International Business).

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

China's economic development model is rapidly evolving from an industrial economy to a better and faster digital economy. With the advantages of Beijing Normal University's various disciplines in the Double First-Class Academic Discipline Plan, BIBS has reconstructed its business talent training system and model. The course is case-study-led and fully integrated with the frontiers of the digital economy, finance, and management. It particularly sheds light on innovative areas such as the newly developed digital economy in the Greater Bay Area, upon which unveil the Master of Business Administration (MBA). It aims to cultivate high-level business talents with digital economy thinking, mastering new models of digital economy and the ability to integrate strong disciplines, to adapt and meet the demand for applied, interdisciplinary, and innovative talents in the industries of the Greater Bay Area.


Master of Finance

The program aims to cultivate individuals with strong professional ethics, social responsibility, and a global perspective. Graduates of this program will have a comprehensive understanding of financial knowledge, be proficient in financial institution management and capital operation management, excel in financial quantitative analysis and computation, and possess knowledge of the application of new technologies in the financial sector. They will be well-equipped to handle complex technical roles in investment and financing management within government departments, financial institutions, and various enterprises and institutions, making them versatile, high-level, and applied professionals.


Master of Professional Accounting

Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program is based on the cultural heritage of the century-old BNU and the mission of integrating Oriental and Occidental. It aims to cultivate high-level accounting and finance talents who emphasize both theory and practice, combine internationalization and localization, integrate leadership and execution, adapt to the development of information technology and the needs of strategic decision-making in organizations, and engage in accounting, finance, auditing, and strategic management in various organizations.


Master of International Business

Fully implementing the fundamental task of cultivating students with moral values, the program aims to train high-level, application-oriented business professionals for the country with a solid theoretical foundation and systematic expertise in Economics and Management, strong practical and operational skills in international business, international communication skills, and innovative spirit. They should also present excellent professional skills, competent in international business operations and management in enterprises and institutions engaged in foreign trade, government departments, and social organizations.
